How much does a custom website cost?

Roughly where my projects start, and the things that actually move the price up and down.

'How much is a website?' is impossible to answer until the website is defined. The numbers below are roughly where my projects start, after we've agreed what's being built.

Where my projects start

  • Landing page: roughly $500–$1k
  • Business website: roughly $1.5k–$3k
  • SaaS / app frontend: roughly $3k +

Those are starting points, and each project gets a fixed quote before I start building. The final number depends on the specifics.

What moves the price

  • The number of pages, and how different they are from each other.
  • Design complexity — a truly custom look takes more work than settling on a clean default.
  • Custom functionality, like forms with logic, booking, or account screens.
  • Integrations with other services.
  • Any backend or data work (I mostly do the frontend).
  • The timeline — rush jobs take more of my time and cost more for it.

Where other costs hide

Templates look cheap up front, but some come with monthly plan or plugin fees, and the build-up of plugins can slow a site down over time. A custom build doesn't have those fees, but it only stays efficient if the scope is agreed early. That's why I quote fixed and agree the scope before code.

What the quote covers

My quotes cover the homepage design direction, the responsive build, deployment, basic SEO (titles, description, sitemap) and support after launch. If something isn't in scope, I'll say so before you commit.

The real cost of a website is whether it does the job — not the number on the invoice.

If you're comparing quotes, the useful question to ask isn't just the number. Ask what's included and when you'll see the design. A clear answer to both is a good sign.
